TIFFANY LIN
At Hunter College, Tiffany is pursuing a degree in Biology and English with a concentration in behavioral neurobiology and creative writing. She spent the summer of 23’ at the University of Michigan, in the laboratory of Daniel Leventhal, MD, PhD. The lab is interested in using deep brain stimulation and optogenetic techniques to study movement disorders like Parkinson’s disease. There, she worked on a project looking at DYT1-Dystonia and utilized DeepLabCut to examine digit movement in DYT1-mice which she ran in two variations of a skilled reaching task: head-fixed and open field. During the academic year, she conducts research investigating the implications of cocaine on behavior and neurobiology under the mentorship of Nesha Burghardt, PhD, and Eric Nestler, MD, PhD. Tiffany would like to gain experience in nanoengineering; she wonders about the future of deep brain stimulation and its possible application to addiction and certain eating disorders. She is interested in a MD/PhD program. |
