Milana Khaitova
Hunter College

Milana is a senior undergraduate student at Hunter College. She is double majoring in Psychology and in the Special Honors Curriculum through the Thomas Hunter Honors Program, where she has a concentration of French. Milana is a Thomas Hunter Honors Scholar and a Yalow Honors Scholar. She is the founder and president of the Francophone Culture and Language Club, at Hunter College. Milana is currently a research assistant in Dr. Tracy Dennis-Tiwary’s Emotion Regulation Lab at Hunter College, where she recently completed her undergraduate honors thesis. In her thesis, Milana explored physiological and behavioral responses to a stressor. In the ER Lab, a multi-disciplinary approach is employed to answer questions about how emotional and cognitive flexibility, anxiety, and stress impact well-being. Milana assists with: ECG data processing, EEG application, behavioral coding, administering studies, and is a co-author of the lab’s newsletter. Milana's broad research interests include understanding how stress impacts individuals differently, and the ways in which stress can change how individuals function in and perceive their environment. Particularly, she is interested in individual differences in responses to various stressors and contexts. She aims to pursue a PhD degree in Psychology and ultimately become a professor and researcher who will work in academia.
