Amajindi Nwanka
New York University

Amajindi is a Junior at New York University who is majoring in Neural Sciences.  His interest range from the neuropathology of addiction to the use of convolutional neural networks to interpret data.  He is an Undergraduate Researcher at Dr. Mark Gershow’s lab at N.Y.U. The goal of the Gershow lab is to explore the ways in which different stimuli can perturb the neural activity of fly larvae.  They are also interested in how this perpetration of neural activity effects the way in which the lave behave.  This information is then used to identify key neurons and or pathways which are responsible for specific cognitive and behavioral phenomena.  Amajindi’s role at the Gershow Lab has been to explore the ways in which convolutional neural networks can be used to increase the efficiency of data collection and behavioral characterization.
