Sansu is currently an undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Psychology (concentration: Behavioral Neuroscience) and Music, with a minor in Chemistry.
She spent her summer working in the lab of Dr. Joanna Spencer-Segal at the University of Michigan, researching the role of the Anterior Cingulate Cortex in the presentation of generalized pain during glucocorticoid withdrawal syndrome in mice. This project allowed her to learn and optimize a one-photon calcium imaging procedure and work with data using the Python CaImAn toolbox. In the future, Sansu would like to pursue graduate study in the neurosciences. She is interested in the neural underpinnings of psychiatric disorders like depression, anxiety, and PTSD and how factors such as stress and trauma may predispose individuals to the development of these disorders. |
