Valentina Alvarez

Valentina is in her penultimate year at New York University’s College of Arts and Sciences. She is pursuing an Honors Bachelor of Science in Neural Science as well as minors in Business Studies and Chinese. Valentina works in Dr. Chiye Aoki’s lab at NYU, where the goal is to decipher the cellular and molecular etiology of Anorexia Nervosa and find a pharmacological cure. Valentina’s mainly interested in drug development for neurological and psychiatric disorders. Her summer research focused on the Ghrelin hormone’s role in the etiology of Anorexia Nervosa. During this remote school year Valentina looks forward to sharpening her data analysis and computer programming skills in the Aoki lab and at BP-ENDURE lectures.
