Ryan graduated from Hunter College with a degree in Psychological Physiology and minoring in Philosophy.
Among his research interests includes systems neuroscience methods that investigate the functional connectivity of distinct neural circuits, reward prediction error as it relates to temporal difference learning, and cross-modal multisensory integration. Ryan is currently conducting research in the neuroethology lab of Dr. Thomas Preuss at Hunter College. They are investigating the role of spontaneous activity on a predicted startle response in the Mauthner circuit of zebrafish. Future plans include completing a doctorate in Neuroscience and working to fill critical gaps in our understanding of human brain function to facilitate the development and optimization of electrical and biological brain modulation therapies, as well as intraoperative neurophysiological assessment of functional integrity during surgical procedures on the nervous system. |
