Karen is a junior at New York University, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Neural Science and a minor in Child and Adolescent Mental Health Studies. Her interests lie in learning, memory, and developmental neuroscience. Particularly, how these three fields can come together and contribute to both memory loss and formation. Currently, she is working in Dr. Eric Klann’s lab whose focus lies in the molecular mechanism underlying memory. Specifically, she works closely with Prerana Shrestha, focusing on the neural and cellular pathways involved in the consolidation of aversive memories. Karen assists in the consolidation of data and in various behavioral experiments such as Fear Conditioning and Elevated Plus Maze. She aims to pursue a PhD degree in Neuroscience.
