Jennifer Tepan
Hunter College

Jennifer Tepan is a junior at Hunter College majoring in psychology with a concentration in neuroscience and minoring in political science. She is also a part of the Yalow honors Scholar’s program. This summer, Jennifer worked at Dr. Maria Figueiredo-Pereira’s lab where she researches how repurposed drugs can ameliorate the major hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease. She will continue her research on how the drugs mechanism of action can have positive effects on transgenic rat models.
Her future career interests lies in the pathology of memory decline and how it may target certain pathways of the brain. The goal of her current research is too evaluate the effectiveness of certain medications at improving neurodegenerative diseases through the use of psychological tests, neuroimaging and cellular assays.
