Isabella is currently a junior at Hunter College pursuing a major in Psychology with a concentration in Physiological Psychology, and minors in Art History and Biology.
They have spent the summer working in Dr. Jill Becker’s lab, researching the sex differences of socialization on dopamine levels in rats. The project used a virus called GRAB DA to track the dopamine levels with the use of fiber photometry. Isabella has been working in and will continue to work in Dr. Nesha Burghardt’s lab in New York, continuing on research regarding the sex differences in locomotor response to methamphetamine in adolescent mice of two strains. Isabella’s research interests lie within addiction studies, more specifically neuro-regeneration or neurogenesis for addiction recovery, as well as the effects that psychedelic substances have on the brain. She hopes to apply to Ph.D. programs in Neuroscience |
